WASHINGTON (February 23, 2024) – Space Tango CEO S. Sita Sonty and the Director of the Space Development Agency (SDA) Dr. Derek Tournear discussed disruptive investment strategies for the space industrial base in a fireside chat at a recent U.S. Chamber of Commerce event.
Moderated by Sonty, the session highlighted the SDA’s space acquisition strategy to leverage commercial solutions and small businesses for agile operations within the Department of Defense’s (DoD) replete acquisition ecosystem. The SDA’s Transport Layer constellation is a prime example of a DoD procurement for a commercial solution with a comprehensive reward for the space ecosystem. Tournear emphasized the SDA’s commitment to supporting market stability as an invested user.
