Ok ✕Jiya Janowitz is an Electrical Engineer at Space Tango. Utilizing his diverse skillset in experimental design, Jiya develops electrical systems for automated hardware and contributes to the procurement of high-quality scientific data from in-space facilities. He works at the integration of mechanical design and science requirements to develop efficient and reliable payload prototypes and electrical components including wiring, sensors, and PCBs
Prior to Space Tango, Jiya interned with the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) optics development team, where he contributed to research predicting laser-induced material fatigue. He was also a QuestBridge Match Recipient at Stanford University where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering and his Master of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. During the completion of his master’s degree, Jiya worked in the Stanford EXtreme Environment Microsystems Laboratory (XLab) focused on the implementation of magnetic field sensor networks in unique industrial environments.
