Annaliza Perez Torres is a Materials Engineer at Space Tango. In this role, Annaliza is responsible for materials research and development (R&D) projects, technology development, design, and implementation on the Mechanical Engineering team.
Annaliza is a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Kentucky. She was awarded the NASA EPSCoR fellowship and received her Advanced Materials Characterization certification. She graduated from the University of California, Merced with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering with a Nanotechnology emphasis and a Physics minor. Along with other materials engineering experience and research, she completed her Co-Op at NASA JPL in nanodevice fabrication. She was also awarded the Undergraduate Outstanding Student and Research Excellence in Materials Engineering.
Annaliza is passionate about promoting STEM education and mentoring. She serves as the Education and Outreach Coordinator for the American Society of Gravitational and Space Research (ASGSR) student organization.
